Recieved an update from the same mum who gave me the bag of clothes. She was sorry about what happened and gave me another bag of nicer clothes. I was surprised by her nice gesture and it really made my day. :) Felt happy and glad that at least what i thought about the ugly side of human is still not as bad as it seems.
So happily i met her up and gotten the bag of clothes from her. It was indeed better this time. Thus, case close. hehe... It was afterall a great experience in exchanging! Treat others the way you wish to be treated. :) By the end of the day, you will be surprised by how much you get back in return. It is indeed more blessed to give than to receive. It's a good time to begin a post! Firstly let's wish the Malays in Singapore a Happy New Year and then to our Nation Singapore, a Happy Birthday!
It should have been a happy day today, Considered it's a short week, only 3 work days! Just want to share my experience here in forum meeting & exchange. As a mother, i believe like all new mum, our lives just split it's path from all the beautiful accessories, fashion stuff to gluing to all the baby stuff. I've began my motherhood education path by joining motherhood forums around. Trading items is one of the trill that i've found myself hooked to. Never knew that some of our "stocked up too many" items could be used to exchange for wet wipes, diapers and all the baby necessities! It was indeed a new learning curve. Fell in love with exchanging with mums and dads around Singapore! Had quite a few great experience with some really nice mums around. Things like high chair, walker, nice clothing, diapers packs clearing at low price just made me look forward towards what other mums had to offer. Unfortunately, today, i met with some really not so honest mums. Wanted to get some 6-12 months clothes for my sweet bubu (my 6 months+ boy) as i find it a little shortage somehow. (Especially with a sweet grandma who simply loves to change his clothes 2-3 times daily, since he drools a lot now.) Went all the way to Geylang and gotten myself a bag of baby clothes (0-3 months) instead of 6-12 months as stated. That is still bearable since it's Free Of Charge. But, what made my heart shuttered was to find them all badly stained with milk, milk etc. and some just very old. Not one in good condition. (No wonder i had a flash worried dejavu image of myself taking a bag of rubbish from the mum, even before collecting the items.) Seriously, i don't find myself a fussy person, in fact, people who know me, knows that i am always willing to go along the crowd. (aka "ching cai"). But this? No way. It simply just turned my day. That was just one incident, but 2 within a day? Ok, let's start with the second one. The second mum stated that the items were all good conditions and that all photos were taken (No wonder the photo was so small). This time i exchanged it with cash. Was really looking forward to the exchange. 60pcs for an equivalent to a pack of diaper (L) was just too good a deal. I can't wait to find out that out of them, only 20 pcs were barely passable. Really learnt my lesson. Sent a message to the mum to express some of my disappointment. Could sense her apology, but not fully though, since to her, it is all in good condition. Perhaps everyone has different standards. So i just let the matter rest, by, voicing it out here. Lesson learnt, always ensure enough checks are done before any exchange is done. This will really minimize any misunderstanding and disappointment. Wrong expectation brings disappointment. Well, it is another day. Still i thank God for all the goodness He has given me. Thank you for reading! A New mum |
